Nigerian pupil shares emotional experience after emerging world’s best in Mathematics

Egejurum Onyedikachi, a young maths prodigy from Nigeria, has talked about his emotional path to becoming the world’s greatest in the Mathematics Primary Category and receiving a gold medal at the International STEM Olympiad Grand Final in Rome.

Nigerians have praised the outstanding accomplishment, with many praising the student’s tenacity, willpower, and outstanding academic prowess on the international scene.

The competition assessed competitors’ mathematical knowledge and problem-solving abilities, bringing together exceptional young kids from many nations.

Onyedikachi claimed that despite a challenging start, he maintained his concentration and ultimately placed first in his division.

Speaking about the experience, Onyedikachi said, “It went well, at least I’m happy at the end. Although at the beginning it was kind of rough, I didn’t cry I was just sad. But at the ending I came victorious and brought home a gold medal to Nigeria.”
