A Nigerian preacher has sent a strong message on marriage, finances, and responsibility, warning men not to let their wives bear the financial load of the family for a lengthy period of time.

He believes that no matter how loving, supporting, or spiritually grounded a woman is, bearing the financial burden of the household for an extended period of time can have a negative impact on the marriage.

“I don’t care how supportive or godly your wife is. If she carries the financial burden of the house for too long, it will affect the marriage. She’s not built for it,” he said.

He explained that, while many women experience true stress during such times, they frequently fail to express it in a way that strengthens rather than weakens the relationship.

At the same time, he observed that males experiencing financial difficulties are typically in a highly sensitive stage of life, where even minor comments can leave long-lasting mental wounds. “At that age, a man is quite sensitive.

“Whatever you say will be remembered,” the preacher declared. He went on to say that men must be deliberate in developing their finances and performing their responsibilities as providers, emphasising that responsibility is not optional.
