A poultry farmer has filed a complaint after claiming that 140 of his chickens has d!ed from extreme noise caused by loud music at a nearby wedding celebration in Uttar Pradesh.

The incident reportedly occurred on April 25 during a wedding procession for the daughter of a local resident, Babban Vishwakarma. According to the farmer, Sabir Ali, the procession passed close to his poultry farm at about 9:30 p.m., with powerful DJ speakers allegedly causing panic among the birds.

Ali claimed the intense sound frightened the chickens, leading to the d3ath of about 140 birds. Following his complaint, police reportedly launched an investigation into the wedding DJ, identified as Kavi Yadav, to determine whether the sound system exceeded permitted noise limits.

Animal experts have long warned that excessive noise can cause severe stress and anxiety in animals, sometimes leading to hearing damage, panic reactions, and even d3ath in extreme cases. Loud sounds such as fireworks, traffic, and high-volume music are known to trigger distress in many d0mestic and wild animals.

Animal welfare organisations also note that prolonged exposure to multiple stress factors — including overcrowding, heat, isolation, hunger, and loud noise — can significantly increase suffering and health risks among animals.
