A grieving family has shared the heartbreaking story of how their 17-year-old son, Thompson Adams Omokafe, was allegedly lured, abducted, and k!lled by his former classmate and accomplices in Lagos State.
The incident was confirmed by Fatai Tijani during a press briefing at the police command headquarters in Ikeja on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that Thompson was returning from the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on April 22 when he was allegedly lured to an apartment by suspects identified as Elijah Emmanuel, 23, and Tony Ogenata, 21, where he was later k!lled.
However, the victim’s family claimed the suspects murdered Thompson before dumping his body in a canal in Awoyaya and fleeing to Ikorodu, where they were eventually arrested.
The family explained that Thompson had left home that day to visit Elijah Hope Emmanuel, who had reportedly invited him over on several occasions. Concern grew when the teenager failed to return home and all attempts to contact him proved unsuccessful because his phone had been switched off.
The following morning, Thompson’s sister, Lovett, reportedly visited the police station to file a missing person report. While she was there, the family allegedly received a message from Thompson’s phone claiming he had been kidnapped and instructing them to download an application as part of the ransom communication process.
The suspects were later said to have demanded ₦150 million for the teenager’s release, despite the family believing he had already been k!lled before the ransom demand was made.
