A Nigerian woman has sparked debate online after posting her thoughts on marriage, divorce, and financial dependence among women.
In a viral video, the lady stated that some women marry for survival and financial security rather than love or companionship.
According to her, some women quit marriages quickly after childbirth to acquire access to a man’s fortune.
She went on to claim that many Nigerian women struggle to exist on their own and have been socially conditioned to perceive men as a way of making life simpler.
The lady also stated that numerous seemingly successful female entrepreneurs were first financially backed by men, implying that such backing frequently plays an important role in the establishment of their firms.

“You’ll bring a woman in, she’ll give you a child and she’ll ask for a divorce after a year just because she’s after your money. Many of our women now are going into marriages for survival, many of the women in Nigeria cannot survive on their own without a man, even those who have the capacity to survive have been educated that they need a man to make life easier. Sometimes if you see a woman running a business and driving a good car and you’re counting her among the women that’s doing well for herself, if you go deep and go dig the beginning of the business, you’ll find out that it’s a man that funded the business
