After criticising women who frequently make fun of guys for being impoverished or having unpredictable finances in partnerships, a Nigerian woman sparked outrage on the internet.
In a widely shared video, the woman asked why some women blame men for not having enough money when they might not be financially independent themselves.
“I hate when a girl says a guy is poor, broke and what am I doing with him. If e easy shay you for get that money yourself,” she said.
She also addressed women who lament their inability to cope with financially uncomfortable men, claiming that many of them had never personally managed significant obligations like rent.
“Somebody said ‘I can’t stay in one room with a guy, who you want suffer.’ You wey never pay house rent for your life before. See eh make Una dey live by example,” she stated.
The lady further dismissed possible criticism over her views, saying she was unconcerned about being labeled a “pick me” or accused of trying to impress men as she gets older.
“I know say if I don old, if I don dey all those kind 30s Una go say I dey find husband, say I be pick me. I no really send your papa for here,” she added.
She challenged women to reflect on their own financial situations before judging men for not being wealthy.
“If e easy you for get that thing wey you dey say another man pikin no get, say him dey poor. Why you sef no get that thing wey you dey ask am?” she asked.
