A man was arrested by the Lagos State Domestic and $3xual Violence Agency (DSVA) after his former partner used social media to accuse him of brutally beating her and breaking her finger.
The agency said in a statement that it contacted the woman as soon as it received the widely shared video on social media and made sure the case was officially reported to the relevant authorities. According to the agency, preliminary results verify that the incident, which happened on Saturday, March 21, was reported to the FESTAC Police Station Tactical Squad and is presently being handled by the FESTAC Police Station’s Family Support Unit (FSU).
The survivor alleged that her estranged partner physically ass@ulted her, resulting in severe injuries, including the loss of a finger.
‘’The alleged perpetrator was apprehended and the matter has been diligently investigated by law enforcement authorities. On 25th March 2026, the case was charged to court at Court 6, MBA Ajegunle. The accused has since been remanded at Kirikiri Maximum Security Custodial Centre pending further proceedings. Bail was granted in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties, and the next court hearing has been scheduled for 29th April 2026.”the agency said
