According to a report by Vanguard on Saturday, December 27, 2025, Dr. Bitrus Pogu, the National President of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF), has expressed his strong support for the recent airstrikes that the United States of America carried out against terrorist targets in the North-West region of Nigeria.
The organization described the operation as both relevant and noteworthy in the context of the country’s continuous fight against insecurity.
The forum claims that the bombings showed that it is feasible to take effective action against armed groups that have caused fear and misery for a large number of people.
Nigerians, he said, had been waiting for years to witness tangible attempts to dismantle terrorist networks. This has now occurred, he said.
According to Pogu, the strikes gave residents who have been the target of several attacks hope. He emphasized that the action was a major change from the years of ineffectual and delayed responses to terrorist strikes.
Dr. Pogu praised the cooperation between the United States of America and Nigeria, saying it showed that when there is a strong political will, it is feasible to fight terrorism.
He conveyed his appreciation for the Nigerian government’s decision to allow the operation. The MBF emphasized in a statement that the military action in the northwest should go on.
The group asserts that terrorist groups operate in numerous parts of the nation and that a durable peace would not be achieved by limiting the attacks to one area. It necessitated comparable efforts in other areas that have experienced conflict.
During the event, a lot of emphasis was placed on the idea that people who publicly support or condone terrorist activities should not be ignored. It issued a warning that statements of this like could threaten national cohesion and spark further violent incidents.
“To the best of our knowledge, we are satisfied with this development. The big thing has arrived, and this is where it begins. Allow them to smoke out each and every one of them, and please grant us peace in Nigeria. He stated that someone like Gumi, who says a variety of things, should be regarded one of the rascals out there. This is because his argument that it may lead to Nigeria’s division is treason, and it should not be entertained.”
