Kidnap victim recounts ordeal after abduction in Ekiti

A Nigerian man has given a distressing story of how he was kidnapped by armed men while working as a farm manager in Ekiti State in October 2025.

Speaking about the event on the Honest Bunch podcast, he stated that the attackers invaded the place and shot one of the victims immediately after arrival. The incident horrified him, and he believed he would not survive.

The kidnappers demanded that he contact his family and obtain 55 million for his release, threatening him with death if he did not pay.

He further stated that the kidnappers forced him and a few other prisoners to relocate the body of a victim who was shot during the raid.

While in custody, the man claimed that the kidnappers then brought in dozens more victims who had allegedly been abducted from a church meeting.

He stated that the group included men, women, and children, many of whom were apprehended after a violent raid on a church service. He claimed that the kidnappers kept the victims in their camp for several days before finally releasing them.

According to the survivor, one of the kidnappers’ aides later claimed that the group’s ransom was paid by Kwara State authorities, though this assertion has not been independently corroborated.

“I was k!dn@pped in October 2025 in Ekiti state where I was working as a farm manager. Immediately the band!ts burst in they sh0*t the guy twice, one in the st0mach and one at the ch£st. I thought it was a joke. Immediately I started ur!nating on my body, say Omo so this is the way I’m going to die as well. I kept shivering. They now told me, you you go call your mama now say your money remain N55 million. Say if you no bring am you self go die for bush. They then told me and three other boys that we should dispose his b**0dy in the nearest bush there. We took his d£@d body while he was v0m!ting blu*d through his mouth.

We didn’t even know that they were the same people who operated at that viral CAC church. That evening they brought all those people. Old women, young child, male, female. They were 38 in number. So one of the ladies were explaining to me that they were just at church oo. This evening they were at church when they started hearing sh0ts and they took them.

They spent up to 5 days at the den before they were released. So there was a guy with us, one Fulani boy that is their errand boy, so the guy is friendly to us a bit. It was the guy that revealed to us that it was Kwara state government that paid their ransom. That they paid 350 million for the 38 people…,” he partly said.
