“Jesus asked you to send ₦5m?” – Daniel Regha tackles Pastor Arome over Tanzania beach encounter

Daniel Regha, a Nigerian social media pundit, has questioned Apostle Arome Osayi’s claim of having supernatural abilities and criticized the preacher’s story of an alleged encounter with Jesus on a Tanzanian beach.

Online reactions followed Osayi’s claim in a previous Gistreel report that Jesus appeared to him and told him to send ₦5 million to a pastor for the ability to reverse autism and raise the dead.

In response, Regha questioned the nature of the encounter and claimed that the story was at odds with the biblical account found in Acts 8:20, which describes Simon the sorcerer’s attempt to use money to gain spiritual power from the apostles.

“Pastor Arome Osayi seems to be making content, because what he said about the Tanzania beach is ridiculous. Jesus asked you to send ₦5m to receive the powers? People who defend him know nothing about the Bible, and it’s sad how gullible Nigerians can be,” he tweeted.

Regha also concentrated on Osayi’s account of the encounter, especially the preacher’s statement that he considered the powers he desired before remembering what he had requested.

Based on his reading of the biblical story, he contended that the person Osayi saw at the beach could not have been Jesus.

“What he said contradicts what the Bible says in Acts 8 vs 20 when someone wanted to buy powers from the apostles to perform miracles. And if you notice in his story, he was thinking about the powers he wanted to ask the man he met at the beach, because that obviously isn’t Jesus,” he added.

Regha’s remarks have contributed to the conversation about Osayi’s account, and the preacher’s experience has generated responses on the internet.
