Iyanna “Yaya” Mayweather, daughter of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, has reportedly been ordered to pay $50 million to Lapattra Lashai Jacobs, the woman she st@bbed during a confrontation at rapper NBA YoungBoy’s home in 2020.
According to court documents obtained by XXL from the District Court of Harris County in Houston, Texas, a judge awarded Jacobs $40.105 million in compensatory damages and an additional $10 million in exemplary damages, bringing the total judgment to more than $50 million.
Breakdown of the damages
The compensatory damages reportedly include $8 million for physical pain and mental anguish, loss of earnings and disfigurement.
A further $32 million was awarded for future damages, including physical pain and mental anguish, physical impairment and disfigurement.
The judge also awarded the additional $10 million in exemplary damages after finding that Mayweather knowingly committed an aggravated a$$ault involving a d3adly weapon.
Mayweather has reportedly been ordered to provide documentation covering her bank accounts, contractual obligations, revenue streams and other sources of income to facilitate enforcement of the financial judgment.
Stabbing incident involving NBA YoungBoy’s baby mothers
NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, was named as a defendant in the lawsuit filed in the 189th Judicial District Court of Harris County.
The judgment stems from an April 3, 2020 confrontation involving Mayweather and Jacobs at NBA YoungBoy’s Louisiana home.
Mayweather and the rapper were dating at the time and share a son, Kentrell Gaulden Jr.
Jacobs, who is also the mother of one of NBA YoungBoy’s children, was reportedly at the house when Mayweather arrived.
According to reports surrounding the incident, the two women became involved in a verbal confrontation that later turned physical. Mayweather allegedly retrieved two knives from the kitchen and stabbed Jacobs twice.
Jacobs reportedly suffered injuries to her arm and bicep and was hospitalised for treatment, including surgery. Her injuries were described at the time as non-life-threatening.
Mayweather previously pleaded guilty
Mayweather pleaded guilty in April 2022 to aggravated a$$ault with a deadly weapon in connection with the stabbing.
The latest civil judgment means she now faces a substantial financial liability arising from the incident.
The case has once again drawn attention to the highly publicised relationship between Mayweather and NBA YoungBoy, as well as the legal and personal fallout from the 2020 confrontation.
