A medical practitioner has resorted to social media to express her perplexity after a man who looked to be very interested in her abruptly shut off communication without explanation, triggering discussions about modern dating and ghosting.
According to the woman, the man went five hours from another nation to England to meet her on their first date.
She claimed he paid for everything, and they instantly bonded over their common backgrounds, interests, hobbies, and future travel plans.
“He started talking about how I would get along with his mum and how excited he was to meet my mum,” she said, describing the date as promising and intentional. The couple apparently planned a second date.
The man drove five hours to meet her for a second date. The doctor claimed she even offered to travel to his nation, but he declined and insisted on visiting her instead.“He paid for everything again and even bought me a bunch of stuff,” she explained.
She noted that nothing intimate happened during the outing. “We literally didn’t do anything. We just had a kiss in the car park,” she said, stressing that there were no arguments or awkward moments.
Her incident has elicited conflicting comments online, with some users sympathising and others speculating that the man may have changed his mind without explanation.
The story sparked debates about emotional engagement, ambiguous signals, and accountability in relationships.
