A woman close to Nigerian online entrepreneur Lucky Elohor has revealed heartbreaking details about her d£•th, causing outrage online.
Lucky, also known as Digital Creator Chic, died at the age of 29 due to a road accident, citing inadequate emergency response and medical facilities as contributing factors.
Bad Roads Led to Fatal Accident
The woman, who identified herself as Lucky’s mentor on Instagram @triciabiz, said the accident was caused by poor road conditions.
She explained that a pothole caused the crash that resulted in Lucky’s d£•th.
Lack of Emergency Response
She emphasized the lack of proper emergency services, stating that no one was available to quickly transport the injured entrepreneur to a hospital.
Instead, passersby reportedly spent time recording the incident.
Hospitals on Strike
The woman revealed that even after the accident, access to medical care was severely delayed due to strikes at local hospitals, including Lautech. Lucky had to be transported to another city in search of treatment.
Poorly Equipped Medical Facilities
Further complicating her condition was the lack of properly equipped hospitals. According to @triciabiz, there was no functional MRI in Ilorin, and the nearest facility was in Ogbomosho.
She wrote: “YET ANOTHER NEEDLESS DEATH
- Bad roads – pothole led to accident.
- No emergency service – no one to move them quickly to hospital instead they are recording them
- Hospitals on strike – Finally Good Samaritan comes. Lautech is on strike so they transport accident citizen to another city.
- Poorly equipped private hospitals – No MRI, no freaking functional MRI in the entire city of Ilorin. Nearest is Ogbomosho. My girl didn’t make it back from that trip.
It’s how you wake up and pray for a good life and there comes Nigeria with its own agenda.
A mess. She could have lived. A mess. A big mess. When people pray the Nigeria should not happen to you prayer. This is it.”
