“It took becoming an adult to realise I have so much trauma to unpack. I’m scared it could affect the kind of parent I’ll become” — Lady opens up

A young woman has offered an emotional comment on how her upbringing continues to influence her as an adult.

She claims that growing up with parents who discouraged her from expressing herself caused her to struggle with communication and emotional stability. She acknowledged to having little patience and believes it may damage the type of mother she becomes in the future.

She also admitted that chats with her father still cause worry, describing their connection as more like “daughter to pastor” than father and daughter, with most discussions centred on marriage and having children.

The lady also stated that she feels many parents inadvertently pass on the same behaviours they experienced as children, resulting in a cycle of unresolved pain.
