“Is RCCG benefiting?” Lady fumes over church plan to teach members about filling taxes, sparks reactions

After voicing her dissatisfaction with a recent announcement made at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), a Nigerian woman caused a stir on the internet.

She claims that the church announced that a guest would be invited to instruct members on taxes, their effects on individuals, and the correct way to file them.

In her words, she said:

“On Sunday, our pastor said that next week they will bring somebody to teach us about taxes, how it affects us, and how to file. I was shocked.”

She recalled how religious leaders, particularly Enoch Adeboye, had criticized Goodluck Jonathan’s administration for poor governance in the past.

The woman raised concerns about potential alignment between religious institutions and the current government, asking why similar reactions are not being observed now.

“During Jonathan’s regime, Enoch Adeboye protested fuel price. Now, they want to teach us how to pay taxes. Is RCCG benefiting from the government? They should tell us. I am angry at this point,” she added.

Many reactions have followed her outburst.

One user wrote, “This one deep o, but then it may just be awareness.” Another commented, “Church and politics no difference?”

Her statement has continued to generate mixed reactions, as Nigerians debate the role of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in addressing economic issues affecting members.
