“If you want your home to stand like Iroko tree, close these 7 doors” – Grandpa shares powerful advice

A video of an old guy giving relationship advice went viral after he listed what he called “seven dangerous doors” that couples must close in order to maintain a healthy and lasting marriage.

The message, which AZ TV published on Facebook, has resonated with a large number of internet viewers.

In the video, the old guy discussed how typical difficulties can destroy a marriage if not addressed.

He emphasised that marriage necessitates deliberate work, discipline, and emotional maturity, and warned that keeping certain ‘doors’ open could weaken even the strongest marriages.

The 7 “Dangerous Doors”

He believes that spouses must avoid habits and behaviours that jeopardise domestic peace.

These include clinging to old relationships, letting too many outside influences, pride, infidelity, unforgiveness, comparison, and poor communication.

He illustrated each concept using relatable analogies, emphasising the value of loyalty, humility, forgiveness, and open communication in maintaining a healthy marriage.

Read his words below:

“If you want your home to stand like the great Iroko tree, you must close seven dangerous doors. Listen closely.

“Number one, the door of the ex-lover. The bird that keeps looking back at his old nest will eventually crash into a tree. You cannot build a future with hands that are still clinging to the past. When you marry, the old road is closed. He who hunts two rats at the same time will go home with empty hands.

“Number two, the door of the third party. A pot that cooks for the whole village never settles on the fire. Your marriage is a secret garden. If you invite every friend and relative to plant their seeds, your own crops will di£. The mouth that eats with everyone cannot keep the secrets of the home.

“Number three, the door of pride. Pride is like a b0ne stuck in the throat. It prevents you from swallowing the truth. In a marriage, you must learn to bend. The blade of grass that bows to the wind survives the storm, but the stiff tree breaks. Do not let I am right d£str0y. We are happy.

“Number four, the door of ad¥lt£ry. A man who goes to the stream to drink from another’s cup when he has a well at home is looking for his coma. Ad¥lt£ry is a fire that consumes the house it started in. No matter how beautiful the neighbour’s soup looks, it can never satisfy your hunger like your own.

“Number five, the door of unforgiveness. When you refuse to forgive, you are drinking p0is0n and expecting your partner to d!£. Marriage is the union of two great forgivers. If you keep a record of every fly that lands on your skin, you will never have peace. Wash the plate and eat again.

“Number six, the door of comparison. The grass in the neighbour’s yard is green. If you spend your time looking at another person’s compound, your own will grow weeds. The moon does not compete with the sun. They both shine when it is their time. Love the person you chose.

“Number seven, the door of silent treatment. Silence in a home is not always peace. Sometimes it is the sound of a wall being built. When you stop talking, the d£vil starts whispering. A problem that is not spoken about is like a wound hidden under a cloth. It will r0t until it is exposed to the air. If you lock these seven doors, the wind of the world may blow, but your lamp will never go out. Please share this video. Someone needs it. And remember, Grandpa loves you…”
