Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, got into a heated argument in the office of Senator Titus Zam, Chairman of the Senate Committee on the North Central Development Commission, on Monday, February 16.
According to reports, the heated argument erupted as a result of Senator Natasha’s absence from the committee’s budget defence session earlier that day.
According to unconfirmed reports, Senator Natasha was barred from attending the meeting and stormed the committee chairman’s office to protest, but was denied entry. This resulted in a heated exchange between members of the Committee Chairman’s office and Senator Natasha’s staff.
During the commotion, one of the senator’s aides was accused of physically confronting a staff member from the chairman’s office, prompting security to intervene.
The situation was eventually brought under control by National Assembly security personnel, though the immediate cause of the altercation is unclear.
Senator Natasha was heard saying in a video circulating on social media that she will not allow any of her colleagues to undermine her constituents.
Senator Natasha got into a heated argument with Senator Patrick Ndubueze, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Steel Development, last week during an interactive session with the Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Audu.
