Afrobeats musician Davido has talked about a time in his marriage to Chioma Adeleke that he regrets, acknowledging that he cheated on her before getting married.
The singer disclosed that the incident took place amid a difficult time in their relationship, characterising it as an unstable phase.
“I was most disappointed in myself when I cheated on my wife when we had a little rift back then before we got married. I thought I could have done better because she’s an amazing person,” he said.
Davido admitted that the incident caused him to think carefully about what he had done and that it was a turning moment in his life when he realised he had made a grave error.
He went on to say that he has since worked to make amends and advance the relationship in spite of the circumstances.
“That was the only time I knew I really messed up, but I have fixed it and we’re married,” he admitted.
In a related disclosure, the musician recently revealed how he met his spouse while they were in college, pointing out that she rejected him at first before they eventually connected in Lagos.
