A former U.S. Army soldier has been convicted of first-degree murder after fatally $tabbing his girlfriend and their six-month-old son before allegedly writing messages in blood on the walls of their apartment.

According to prosecutors, 28-year-old Kendall Rashad Ramsey carried out the att@ck in Hawaii in 2020, $tabbing his girlfriend 38 times and their infant son 17 times.

Authorities said Ramsey fled the scene after the k!llings and was later involved in a car crash, which his defence claimed was an attempt to take his own life.

While receiving treatment at a hospital, Ramsey reportedly told medical personnel that he had become intoxicated, grew angry and blacked out. He allegedly said that when he regained consciousness, he found his girlfriend and son d3ad.

During the trial, Deputy Prosecutor Scott Bell described the horrific crime scene encountered by responding officers.

“Even with years of experience of police work under their belts, the responding officers were unprepared for the horror that awaited them in that second-floor studio.”

Bell said one officer smelled blood before entering the apartment, where investigators found blood splattered across the walls, soaked into the furniture and covering the carpet.

Police discovered the six-month-old baby lying on his back near a trash can, while the child’s mother was found nearby in a pool of blood.

Investigators also found messages allegedly written in blood on the apartment walls, including:

“I’m sorry. I $tabbed her. She choked me.”

During the trial, Ramsey’s defence argued that his actions were influenced by longstanding mental health problems stemming from childhood abu$e, abandonment, trauma and other personal struggles.

Despite the defence’s arguments, a jury found Ramsey guilty of first-degree mu√der in July 2026.

He remains in custody at the Oahu Community Correctional Center without bail and is scheduled to be sentenced on November 18, 2026.
