“I blame my mother for being unmarried at 37” – Woman shares emotional story of sacrifice and family pressure

A 37-year-old lady provoked outrage online after opening out about her difficult life story, blaming her current condition on years of sacrifice for her family.

According to her, she left Nigeria some 15 years ago and travelled through Libya and Italy before landing in Germany, where she worked tirelessly to support her family back home.

Read what she said below;

“I blame my mother for everything I am going through right now, because no man wants to settle down with me. All my mates are married with children, I am the only one left. I will be 38 in the next two months, no child, no husband.”

She disclosed that she began her career in cleaning before transitioning into caregiving and sending money home to construct a home and enhance her family’s standard of living.

But rather than pushing her to settle down, she claimed her mother encouraged her to concentrate on her siblings, asking her to take them overseas and keep helping them.

“My mother told me to forget about marriage and bring my siblings over. I struggled, worked two jobs, took loans, and brought them here. Immediately they settled, they got married and started their own lives,” she added.

She continued by saying that every time she brought up marriage, her mother dissuaded her, saying she was still young and should put her family’s needs first.

Years later, she feels abandoned because her siblings have moved on with their lives, leaving her unmarried and unsure about her future.

“Now I am the only one left unmarried. I’m 37, no husband, no child, and my mother is still telling me to be careful and marry a man that will allow me to keep taking care of the family.”

She said that when she voiced her worries, her mother brushed them off, telling her that marriage isn’t everything and that she could always adopt a kid.
