“I thought I would lose my son while my husband buried his father” — Mother shares emotional story

A mother has described a terrible near-tragic incident in her house in which her youngest kid fell into a well and just avoided death.

The tragedy, which occurred in March while her husband was away for his father’s funeral, spurred discussions about kid safety and the perils of unfinished construction projects.

Quick thinking saves the toddler from drowning.
The mother claimed that previous warnings, including a dream her pastor had given about a child falling into a well, had made her nervous.

On the day of the incident, her second son raced home in a panic, stating that his younger brother had gone missing while playing outside.

Suddenly, my second son ran in and said he can’t find his younger brother. I jumped up and my mind went straight to the well. I got there and found my son at the bottom of the well filled with water to his neck. I called my two eldest sons to get me the ladder, and I held it for him to climb. That day, if I was going to die, I was ready to lay my life down for my boy.”

The well, one of two being dug at their home and church, remained incomplete, prompting experts to warn about the dangers of unattended construction sites.

Similar events have been reported in Nigeria, with officials encouraging parents to observe their children and implement safety precautions near wells, pits, and construction sites to avoid preventable accidents.

The mother’s swift response and bravery have gone viral online, with many admiring her bravery in a circumstance that could have ended horribly.
