"I don't wake up early, I can't cook" - Lady laments over family pressure to settle down, says she's the wrong person

A Nigerian lady has gone viral after opening up about how constant marriage pressure in her village conflicts with her laid-back lifestyle.

In a viral video posted on X (formerly Twitter), she revealed that villagers constantly ask her when she plans to settle down, but she has chosen to live life on her own terms.

She admits to waking up late, spending hours scrolling through her phone, going clubbing, and ignoring societal expectations.

In her words, she said:

“I went to the village, and they keep telling me about marriage. The last time I cooked a proper meal was three years ago. I wake up by 12, I scroll through my phone for three hours.”

She explained that she does not follow anyone else’s schedule or life plan except her own.

Her daily routine, she explained, is slow, relaxed, and far from the traditional lifestyle that many expect her to embrace.

Despite mounting pressure from family members and villagers, she appears unconcerned, preferring to enjoy her freedom and proceed at her own pace.

The video has since sparked mixed reactions online.

One user wrote, “Village people no dey ever mind their business when it comes to marriage.” Another commented, “Enjoy now, but life no be only clubbing and scrolling phone.”
