An overseas-based Nigerian guy has generated outrage online after revealing his painful experience of spending much in a romance only to be betrayed by the woman he trusted.

Racheal Joseph published the story on Facebook, detailing how the man, named as Ifeanyi, spent millions constructing a home for the woman he planned to marry.

Ifeanyi, who lives in the United States, travelled to Nigeria to start a life with the lady he loved.

He reportedly spoke with her relatives, planned future plans, and went above and beyond to provide for her.

“At some point, I decided to rent an apartment for her so she could be comfortable. I paid 3 million for the house and spent over 11 million furnishing and fixing the place. I bought everything needed to make it a home. On top of that, I supported her every month because I believed I was taking care of the woman who would eventually become my wife.”

Even when in America, Ifeanyi noted tiny differences in her tone during phone calls. Despite this, he convinced himself not to overthink the matter, believing that the relationship would remain strong.

“Sometimes I felt something wasn’t quite right. The tone of her voice on the phone would change. I would ask questions, but I convinced myself not to overthink it. I trusted her.”

On the 5th of this month, Ifeanyi came to Nigeria to surprise her, only to discover she no longer lived in the flat.

“Everything I worked hard for, everything I spent, was done believing I was building a life with her. Right now I’m hurtt, confused, and honestly questioning a lot of things. Part of me feels like confronting her and demanding my money back. Another part of me just wants to walk away and leave everything to God. Life has a way of revealing people for who they truly are. I wish her well, but the pain of this experience is something I will not forget anytime soon.”
