“God will punish cancer” — Blessing CEO reacts as Alex Ekubo dies

Blessing CEO, a controversial self-proclaimed relationship guru, has responded to the death of Nollywood star Alex Ekubo, who reportedly died after suffering stage 4 liver cancer.

According to reports, the actor died on Monday in a Lagos hospital following a months-long battle with illness.

His passing has elicited strong emotions from fans, coworkers, and public personalities in the entertainment sector.

Blessing CEO appeared to mention her previous cancer controversy in her Instagram post as she expressed her condolences over the actor’s death.

Her answer has sparked online discussions, particularly in light of the controversy surrounding her own cancer claims earlier this year.

Recall that in March 2026, Blessing CEO openly requested financial aid for what she termed as stage 4 breast cancer chemotherapy.

However, the assertion generated outrage when the Nigerian Medical Association accused her of allegedly changing another patient’s medical report from Xinus Medical Diagnostics.

The medical certificate, apparently signed by consulting pathologist Dr. O.A. Odigwe, drew national attention after critics questioned its legitimacy.

During the incident, social media star VeryDarkMan filed a petition with the Inspector-General of Police, demanding an investigation into the matter.

The recent developments surrounding Alex Ekubo’s death have rekindled debates around cancer awareness, public health transparency, and the emotional toll of terminal illnesses.
