Fashion designer Ejiro, whose disappearance last year sparked the viral #WhereIsEjiro? campaign, has opened up about her experience, sharing how she says she eventually left a sp!ritual group that had become a major part of her life.
Speaking during a church testimony on Sunday, July 5, 2026, Ejiro said her journey began shortly after celebrating a milestone birthday, when she received a prophetic message from the group claiming that God wanted to use her to redeem her family.
According to her, because she had been praying about challenges affecting her family, she believed the message and joined the ministry.
Ejiro alleged that while she was with the group, she was instructed to sell all her possessions and give the proceeds to the ministry, with assurances that God wanted to strip her of everything before lifting her up.
She said she complied until she had nothing left and was living in hardship.
The fashion designer further claimed that the group gradually isolated her from her family and friends, alleging that she was told her mother was a witch and that she came to believe it because of what she described as prolonged manipulation.
She also alleged that whenever she began questioning the group’s teachings, she was told the Holy Spirit was speaking to her, making it difficult to think independently. According to her, she was assigned a handler whom she believed was a friend, but who allegedly reported her thoughts and plans back to the group.
Ejiro said that when her family and friends launched the #WhereIsEjiro? campaign last year, the ministry sent her to reassure them that she was safe and serving God willingly.
However, she said that experience marked the beginning of her decision to leave.
According to Ejiro, she gradually regained confidence after joining the NSPPD online prayer platform. She said she eventually broke free from what she described as the group’s manipulation and started rebuilding her life from scratch.
Reflecting on her recovery, she said July 7, 2025, marked the beginning of her fresh start, adding that within a year she had rebuilt her fashion business.
She testified that between March and now, she has generated ₦83 million from her fashion business, describing it as evidence of God’s restoration in her life.
