According to a report by The Times of Israel, on Monday October 5, 2026, marking the solemn three-year anniversary of the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led invasion, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered a resolute address on Monday, October 5, 2026.
During the state commemoration, Netanyahu declared that Israel remains steadfast in accomplishing its remaining security objectives, specifically warning that individuals linked to the historic attacks and hostage-taking operations are running out of time.
Addressing the nation, the prime minister emphasized that Israel still has critical missions to complete.
He stated that daily efforts are underway to settle scores with Hamas operatives, making it clear that accountability for the October 7 atrocities remains an uncompromised priority.
“Everyone who was involved in the attack against us, everyone who held our hostages, is living on borrowed time. We will reach them, as we reached the others,” Netanyahu warned the audience.
Shifting focus to the northern front, Netanyahu outlined a dual approach toward Lebanon.
He noted that while kinetic operations against Hezbollah will persist to secure Israel’s borders, Jerusalem ultimately desires a diplomatic breakthrough with its northern neighbor.
According to the prime minister, Israel intends to continuously strike Hezbollah to pave the way for a stable relationship with a Lebanese populace that he believes largely desires peace.
Netanyahu also took aim at Iran, characterizing the regime as deeply vulnerable.
He argued that the current leadership in Tehran is facing unprecedented internal and external pressures, making it the weakest it has been since the Islamic Republic’s founding.
He pledged that Israel would take all necessary measures to prevent the regime from threatening the nation’s survival.
