“Dem no get” — Woman recounts how N1.2m job ended after company promised N93k

A woman has described how an apparently alluring Head of Content position with a N1.2 million monthly salary terminated suddenly after she learned of strange practices within the company.

With a short commute, a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule, and a monthly compensation of N1.2 million net, the position seemed like a dream prospect, according to her story.

She quickly found out, though, that she was the only employee in the content department, so she was essentially in charge of herself.

The woman claimed that two days after she started working again, she learned that the company was creating roughly 63 products at once and had been founded primarily to seek venture capital funding.

Additionally, she stated that the company employed a lady to trade foreign exchange on its behalf, with a monthly goal of $100,000.

She claimed that when the forex trader allegedly started requesting transportation, her worries intensified.

Later, the woman said that the corporation requested her to assist in developing a studio and podcast. She was allegedly told to leave after submitting a comprehensive list of the equipment and expenses.

She said, “Na me Dey produce the studio equipment?”

She claims that when she questioned the human resources department why she was being asked to leave, the HR representative claimed not to know.

The woman claimed that even the N93,000 that the corporation eventually offered to compensate her for the stress and labour was allegedly unavailable.

She went on to say that everyone was eventually fired by the company, and the final worker apparently went six months without getting paid.

Discussions concerning startup funding, workplace red flags, and the significance of comprehending a company’s processes prior to accepting an alluring employment offer have been triggered by the account.
