Afrobeats singer Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has dismissed reports suggesting that he is involved in a feud with fellow Nigerian music star Davido.

The ‘Calm Down’ hitmaker addressed the speculation during an interview with Ebro Darden and Laura Stylez, where he made it clear that there is no conflict between him and the DMW boss.

Rema explained that comparisons between artistes by their respective fan bases often create the impression of rivalries, even when no personal disagreement exists.

“Davido and I have no issues; those are just rumours. I have so much respect for the OGs,” he said.

The singer also revealed that he had previously tried to discourage his fans from engaging in online fan wars involving other artistes.

According to Rema, such comparisons can become difficult to control when supporters of different artistes continue to fuel them on social media.

“Fans are always the ones starting things. I used to caution my fans, but sometimes the other artiste enjoys the comparisons and doesn’t do the same, so I stopped,” he said.

Rema’s comments come amid continued comparisons between Nigerian artistes and their fan bases, particularly across social media platforms.

His clarification separates the online rivalry created by fans from his personal relationship with Davido, whom he described as one of the respected senior artistes in the Nigerian music industry.

Both Rema and Davido have established successful careers in Afrobeats, with their music gaining audiences in Nigeria and internationally.

With his latest remarks, Rema has clearly stated that he does not consider himself to be in any conflict with Davido.
