According to reports, a university class representative was detained after classmates accused him of embezzling money and misrepresenting the cost of a required course resource.
Online sources claim that the class representative charged students ₦8,500 for a book that was supposed to cost ₦3,500.
When it was discovered that he had quickly upgraded from an iPhone XR to an iPhone 16, suspicions were said to have grown among his peers.
His arrest is said to have resulted from some classmates reporting the incident to the police.
As of the time of this report, there are still unknowns regarding the arrest, including the specific charges and the institution involved.
