Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, has stated that he is committed to improving the state and that no one has the right to divert his administration with the 2027 elections.
At the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Umuikaa District headquarters, Isialangwa South Local Government Area, Otti made this declaration on Saturday, promising everyone that he would continue to be committed to doing the right thing.
“I am not bothered about 2027, as the God that settled 2023 would equally settle 2027,” he stated.
Otti, who attended the church service with his wife, Priscilla Chidinma, added,
“This government will continue to do the right thing. No one, or group of people, whoever they are, none of them is entitled to distract us.
So, when they make noise, like I said last week, we should not be bothered about noise. We should just remain focused and do what we have to do,” he added.
Sometimes, I worry if it is the 2027 election they are talking about, or maybe there’s another election coming up. But the same way God delivered me in 2023, that is the way He will deliver me in 2027,” he further stated.
The governor expressed regret for the dust that locals are breathing in from the ongoing road renovation near the Umuikaa junction and Owerrinta road, stating that these inconveniences are a necessary part of growth.
“As you can see, we are at the final stages of dualising this road. It is a federal road, but we got approval from the Federal Government to reconstruct and dualise the road.”
The Onuimo-Tower Road is still under construction, he continued, adding that the aim is that you will always know you have entered Abia State.
