Following the global success of a contentious video in which he claimed he could “sacrifice his parents for the All Progressives Congress (APC),” a young guy in Kogi State was reportedly apprehended by his own father.

Earlier this week, the young man—who goes by Mc Isa Aha on social media—shared the footage.

In the video, he made the startling claim that immediately provoked fury and polarising responses on multiple social media sites.

The video quickly went viral, and many Nigerians condemned it, calling the comment risky and unsettling. What they perceived as excessive political devotion was challenged by a number of users.

Some viewers stated that such remarks should not be taken lightly, particularly in a sensitive political environment, while others brushed the comment aside as a joke or an attempt to trend online.

A close friend of the young man wrote that after seeing the viral video, his father took action. According to the acquaintance, the arrest took place on Tuesday night.

“Mc Isa Aha was arrested by his father this evening about the video he was dropping since that he can sacrifice his parent for APC.

“Please my good people, I want us to beg his father to release my friend. It is a mistake and it would never repeat himself again,”

By characterising the episode as a mistake that would not be repeated, the post also urged readers to beg the father for forgiveness.
