Popular preacher Rev. Kesiena has generated outrage online after questioning Christians’ vote choices and responses to the country’s deteriorating security.
The pastor criticised the condition of abducted kids, pointing out that scores of victims, including small children, are still being kept captive by kidnappers.
“Forty-six people are still in the bush, including children. One amongst them is a two-year-old. They woke up and went to school, just like our own children went to school, and they kidnapped them,” he said.
He also questioned the objectives of some religious leaders and political people, claiming that public celebrations and political activities continue despite the pain of innocent Nigerians.
Rev. Kesiena discussed the economic hardships faced by residents, recalling his shock at purchasing fuel for ₦50,000 and reflecting on the burden many Nigerians currently bear.
“I was with Pastor Mina when I bought ₦50,000 fuel. It’s because he was there I could not cry. I just looked at my gauge and said, ‘Na ₦50,000 fuel I buy so.’ Na cry wan comot for my throat,” he stated.
The preacher went on to chastise Christians for supporting politicians he feels lack integrity and shown leadership abilities, stressing that voters should prefer morals and competence when voting leaders.
He also voiced unhappiness with what he saw as political compromises and poor leadership decisions that have contributed to the country’s current problems.
“Christians are cowards. That’s why we have raised Christians that can go and vote for a thief, vote for people who don’t have integrity,” he added.
