Carter Efe loses 5.6m TikTok account as old video of Peller urging fans to report him resurfaces

Nigerian content creator Peller has come under scrutiny after an old video showing him urging his followers to report Carter Efe’s TikTok account resurfaced following the comedian’s latest ban from the platform.

The video began circulating online on September 9, shortly after Carter Efe lost his main TikTok account, which had reportedly amassed more than 5.6 million followers and 158 million likes.

Peller Urged Followers to Report Carter Efe

In the resurfaced footage, Peller was seen kneeling while appealing to his audience to report Carter Efe’s TikTok page.

He reportedly accused the comedian of sabotaging other content creators and discussed a strategy aimed at getting Carter Efe’s account removed from the platform.

The resurfacing of the video has generated speculation among social media users, with some linking the timing of Peller’s previous appeal to Carter Efe’s latest account suspension.

However, there is currently no confirmed evidence that Peller or his followers played any role in TikTok’s decision to remove the account.

TikTok Gives Reason for Carter Efe’s Ban

Screenshots of an enforcement notice circulated online indicated that TikTok permanently banned Carter Efe’s account over repeated violations of the platform’s Community Guidelines.

The stated reason for the ban has therefore remained policy violations rather than any confirmed action by Peller or his followers.

The latest ban represents another setback for Carter Efe, who previously lost an account with approximately 3.5 million followers in June 2025.

He later rebuilt his presence on TikTok, growing his new account to more than five million followers before the latest enforcement action.

Old Video Sparks Fresh Debate

The timing of Peller’s resurfaced video has reignited discussions about rivalry, competition and tensions within Nigeria’s growing content creation industry.

While the old footage shows that Peller previously called on his followers to report Carter Efe’s account, there is no verified indication that the campaign resulted in, or was connected to, the latest TikTok ban.

For now, TikTok’s stated reason remains repeated violations of its Community Guidelines, while Carter Efe’s latest account action continues to generate reactions across social media.
