Social media activist Verydarkman has claimed that Afrobeats singer Burna Boy once warned him about the possible consequences of standing up for Nigerians.

He made the claim in a recent video shared on social media, where he spoke about the challenges associated with advocating for the interests of Nigerians.

According to Verydarkman, Burna Boy cautioned him that the same Nigerians he was defending could eventually turn against him if given the opportunity.

He said fighting for Nigerians can be exhausting because people may eventually abandon or turn against those who speak up on their behalf.

Verydarkman also referenced the backlash Burna Boy reportedly faced following an incident at his show in the UK, where the singer allegedly asked an individual to leave the venue.

He criticised Nigerians who joined calls to cancel Burna Boy over the incident, arguing that the singer is an internationally recognised artiste.
