During a recent attack on the Karku hamlet in Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, suspected gang members killed three persons and abducted a Catholic priest along with at least ten others.

The attack took place at the home of Rev. Fr. Nathaniel Asuwaye, the parish priest of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Karku, which is part of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, early on Saturday morning, at 3:20 a.m.

According to Rev. Fr. Jacob Shanet, the diocese’s chancellor, the attackers, who the locals referred to as terrorists, came in a well-organized fashion and swept through the neighborhood. Alhaji Kusari, Mr. Maitala Kaura, and Mr. Jacob Dan’azumi were all k+lled in the attack, he said.
