Spain is the “best team” at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, according to Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni, who acknowledged that his squad will face a formidable opponent in Sunday’s final but expressed optimism that both teams will put on an unforgettable match.

Spain advanced with a 2-0 victory over France, while the reigning champions secured their spot in the final with a 2-1 triumph against England.

During his pre-match press conference, Scaloni stated that Spain is the side to beat due to their performances throughout the tournament.

“I’ll be worried just seeing the Spanish team bus,” Scaloni said.

“Everything is worrying when you face a great team that’s having such a great run under Luis de la Fuente.”

Both clubs have comparable football mindsets, according to the Argentine boss, especially when it comes to controlling possession and creating assaults from the back.

He expressed his optimism that the final would live up to expectations and showcase the calibre of both countries’ performances throughout the competition.

Scaloni also emphasised Argentina’s track record in important competitions, but he maintained that Spain has players who can withstand the pressure of a World Cup final.

“Once the match starts and the ball is touched, the pressure disappears and the focus shifts to the performance,” he said.
