A woman gave a touching story about how tiny acts of responsibility and understanding helped her marriage.
According to her testimony, if she and her husband battled, she would quit cooking, leaving him to arrange meals on his own.
Despite her acts, he continued to provide her stipend, food money, and even dollars that he had promised her father.
This persistent display of accountability caused her to consider her actions and, as a result, adjust her approach to arguments.
“Then one month, we had another fight… and as usual, I didn’t cook. The month ended, and he still sent my allowance… plus the full foodstuff money like he always does. He even sent the money he had promised my dad. I was surprised. I asked him why he would still send food money when I hadn’t been cooking. He simply said, ‘Because it’s my responsibility.’”
The woman added that since that event, she has continued to cook even while upset, adding that the practice has improved communication and decreased the frequency of disagreements.
She emphasised how sharing meals and making simple actions of kindness may keep unity and prevent problems from growing.
“Now, even when I’m upset, I still cook for him. And I’ve noticed something… most of our quarrels don’t even last anymore. Somehow, we always end up talking things out while eating. Small things like this save marriages.”
