Akor Adams, the Super Eagles forward, has been granted leave from the national team camp following his mother’s hospitalisation.

The 25-year-old striker, who scored in Nigeria’s recent AFCON play, dedicated the goal to his mother, who was unable to attend the game in Morocco.

Adams said, “First, glory to God for the privilege to score my AFCON goal, but this goal is dedicated to my mom. She was supposed to be here, but she was admitted to the hospital earlier today. Thankfully, she is now much better.”

Adams’ brief absence to be with his family was accepted by Super Eagles management after the event. He is anticipated to return to camp prior to Nigeria’s quarterfinal match on Saturday, according to sources.
