A woman has sparked a heated conversation online after revealing that she deliberately embarrasses children in her neighbourhood, aged between 10 and 15, whom she claims refuse to greet adults.
The woman said almost every apartment in her neighbourhood has children, but she noticed that many of them would make eye contact with her and simply walk past without offering a greeting.
According to her, she initially took the initiative to greet the children herself, hoping they would eventually learn to return the gesture without being reminded.
However, she said she later decided to change her approach by addressing the children as “ma” or “sir” while slightly bowing whenever she met them.
She recounted an encounter with one of the children, saying the boy appeared confused when she greeted him respectfully and added the title “sir.” According to her, he was unable to respond and simply lowered his face while walking towards his apartment.
The woman expressed frustration with what she described as poor upbringing and a lack of social interaction among some children.
She criticized parents for allowing their children to spend excessive time on gadgets such as iPads without teaching them basic manners and social etiquette.
Her comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some people supporting her stance on teaching children respect and others questioning whether deliberately embarrassing children is an appropriate way to correct their behaviour.
