Woman gets emotional over kettle used for 24 years

Omotayo Ajoke Adetunji, a Nigerian woman, has told an emotive story about a household kettle that has served her family for more than 20 years.

According to her, her spouse purchased the kettle in 2002, a few months before their wedding.

Since then, it had been used every day in their home until recently, when the spout finally disconnected.

She stated that the item had grown highly emotive due to the numerous roles it had performed in the family over time.

“My hubby bought this kettle a few months to our wedding in the year 2002. Since then it had been serving us until last month when the pout got detached,” she wrote.

Adetunji noted that the kettle has been used for a variety of household needs, including boiling water for delicacies such as eba, amala, tea, and pap, as well as cooking eggs and heating bath water.

She also disclosed that it played an important role in her life, such as warming water for body massages after childbirth.

Reflecting on its lengthy service, she acknowledged to being uneasy about putting it away.

“For 24 good years it had served my family. I have mixed feelings letting it go,” she said
