Suellen Carey, a model and influencer who was born in Brazil, has announced the termination of her one-year self-marriage, saying that her path of sologamy finally got too much to handle.

Last year, Carey, 36, made headlines across the world when she married herself in a ceremony that was widely shared in London and was captured on camera for her 400,000 Instagram followers.

Carey tried to make the commitment work despite the unusual celebration.

In an effort to deal with the difficulties of her special connection, she even went alone to ten sessions of couples-style therapy.

She acknowledged, though, that she was emotionally and psychologically exhausted by the continual need to be flawless for herself.

“I realised I was putting a lot of pressure on myself, and that sometimes left me exhausted,” she said, reflecting on the experience.

According to Carey, her sologamous marriage was a process of personal development and healing.

She emphasised that self-analysis and introspection were crucial, pointing out that emotional burdens might still accompany self-commitment.

“Even in a marriage with ourselves, it’s important to accept our imperfections,” she explained.

Although the influencer described the experience as “enriching,” she also agreed that it was time to move on.

According to Carey, she is now prepared to consider forming relationships with other people while accepting the knowledge she has gained from her single endeavour.

“Personal growth can lead us in different directions. I’ve decided it’s time to open my heart to new possibilities, including the chance to find a partner,” she added.

The influencer’s followers are still praising her for her bravery and honesty in making such a radical life decision.
