A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has called for a psychiatric evaluation of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, following recent allegations made against him.

George made the remark during an interview on TVC while reacting to Wike’s claim that his Abuja residence was built with funds belonging to the Rivers State Government.

Responding to the allegation, George dismissed the claim as false and questioned Wike’s state of mind.

He said:

“That young man needs to be immediately taken to a psychiatric hospital. My house in Abuja was bought with Rivers funds? How? This guy, is he okay?”

The PDP chieftain added that he considered it beneath him to engage in a public exchange with Wike, citing their age difference.

“First, it is an infra dignitatem for me to respond to a child who is about the same age as my first child.”

George also made personal remarks about the FCT minister, saying:

“Go and find out about him, what his father did to him and what he did to his father. In Africa, if your father publicly disowns you, do you know what that means? And you want me to respond to him? Respond to him as what? He is talking absolute rubbish.”

Clarifying the ownership of the property in question, George insisted he did not build the house.

“I didn’t even build the house. I bought it.”

He concluded by alleging that Wike was under the influence of an unknown substance.

“He is high on something.”

The exchange has further intensified the war of words between the two PDP chieftains, with many Nigerians reacting to the latest round of accusations and counter-accusations.
