“2027 Will Decide Nigeria’s Future” – Odumeje Urges Youths to Unite, Slams Tinubu’s Supporters

Popular Anambra-based cleric Pastor Chukwuemeka Odumeje has called on Nigerian youths to unite ahead of the 2027 general elections, urging them to take an active role in determining the country’s future.

Speaking during a recent sermon, the outspoken pastor said the next general election would decide whether Nigeria belongs to a few politicians or to all its citizens, insisting that leaders must remain accountable to the people.

He said:

“Nigerian youths, let’s unite together to bring a working government. We must be the ones to tell them what we want. Anyone entrusted with leading the people must know how to speak to them.”

Odumeje also criticised those supporting President Bola Tinubu, accusing them of prioritising personal interests over the future of Nigerians.

According to him, the nation’s resources belong to every citizen, and the government must account for borrowed funds because future generations will bear the burden of repaying the debts.

He said:

“Those supporting President Tinubu are busy selling the future of our children for money and personal gain. The resources they are managing belong to all Nigerians. The money being borrowed is a debt that every Nigerian will have to bear, so they must give Nigerians an account of how those funds are being used.”

The cleric further argued that the government should not celebrate the construction of roads as though it were an extraordinary achievement.

“It is shameful that the government celebrates the construction of roads as though it is an extraordinary achievement. Even the coastal road they are celebrating could be overtaken by flooding once the rains come.”

His remarks have since generated widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing mixed opinions over his comments on governance, accountability and the 2027 general elections.
