A Nigerian woman has questioned why some men give up so quickly when a woman tells them she is still considering pursuing a relationship with them.

In a video posted on X (previously Twitter), she questioned why the typical talking stage appeared to be changing. She observed that when a woman exhibits uncertainty or indicates that she is not yet interested, some guys immediately walk away.

The lady raised concern that women may require more time to make up their minds before deciding whether to give a man another chance.

“Please, why is it that most guys do not drag talking stages anymore? Once a girl says, ‘I’m not really interested,’ or, ‘I’m still trying,’ they will just be like, ‘Okay.’ You guys are giving up so quickly. What if the girl is still thinking about it? What if she’s trying to make her decision?”

She also questioned why men don’t seem to be prepared to give women more time to determine whether or not to pursue a relationship.

Her comments have spurred debate about contemporary dating and whether or not men should give women more time to decide during the conversation phase.

Walking away may be seen by some as honouring a woman’s response, while others think that when two individuals are still getting to know one another, patience and communication are crucial.
