“We were not ‘blood’…?” — Peter Okoye laments 20 years of alleged betrayal

Nigerian artist Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, has sparked public debate about his long-running feud with his brothers.

In a recent Facebook post, the artist expressed disgust with what he regarded as years of betrayal and false tales about him.

He highlighted that the case is still unsettled and is now in court.

Read what he wrote in full below:

We were not “blood” when they were stealing from me. We were not “blood” when they were creating false narratives about me.

Now that I’ve uncovered the betrayal that has been going on for over 20yrs plus, suddenly we’re blood?

No… it doesn’t work like that. We are still in court! Forgiveness doesn’t mean Accessibility. Again! Una go dey alright.”

The Okoye family feud, which includes Peter, his twin brother Paul Okoye, and elder brother Jude Okoye, has lasted several years.

P-Square, previously one of Africa’s largest music groups, disbanded in 2017 due to internal issues over management, economics, and creative control. Jude, who led the organization at the time, was frequently at the center of the conflict.

Peter had previously accused his brothers of financial mismanagement and a lack of accountability. The disagreement resulted in a public backlash, court fights, and the group’s final dissolution.

Although the brothers briefly rejoined in 2021, problems reappeared, and Peter has continued to seek legal action for alleged financial concerns dating back more than two decades.
