A woman has moved many social media users by expressing her struggle with homelessness and poverty, while claiming that she will never abandon her spouse despite their challenging circumstances.
The lady described how she and her husband allegedly travelled a considerable distance to Abuja in pursuit of a better life, but have been homeless since January.
According to her, the pair now sleeps outside and often struggles to get food, but she is determined to stay with her spouse because of their love and closeness.
Speaking tearfully, the woman described how certain members of her family turned against her because she refused to leave her spouse for another guy despite their financial difficulties.
“I cannot leave my husband for any reason. Because of him, all my family members abandoned me. We’ve been homeless since January and we sleep outside, but I’ll never leave my husband. We barely see food to eat and people laugh at us as if we are nothing.”
The woman also said that her grandma chased her out of the house after she refused to marry someone else.
She stated that her spouse was financially secure before she became pregnant with him, but things changed afterward.
“He was not this poor when I got pregnant for him, but regardless, I have decided to stay with him. We’ve been praying and I know God will come through for us,” she added.
The moving story has sparked comments online, with many Nigerians admiring her loyalty and others urging support for the impoverished marriage.
