A Nigerian woman who recently went viral after rejecting a public marriage proposal on her university campus has spoken out to address the situation and clarify what transpired.

The student from the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), also known as Angelgrey TV, became a viral topic after a video surfaced of her declining a proposal in front of other students.

In response to the outpouring of emotion on social media, the young woman clarified that the male engaged in the incident is simply a friend.

She insisted that there had never been a romantic relationship between them.According to her, they never dated, contrary to popular belief on social media since the video leaked.

She further denied reports that the man paid for her schooling or helped her financially while she was studying. The student further stated that she was entirely unaware of the proposal strategy.

She claimed the man unexpectedly showed on campus on her birthday with an engagement ring and planned a public proposal.

She insisted that they had never discussed marriage before, which shocked her. Because of the unexpected nature of the occurrence, she stated that she had no choice but to reject the proposal in public.

The lady stated that the incident caused her a great deal of discomfort because it occurred in front of a large crowd and was later widely publicised online.

She added that she is currently looking for an opportunity to give a formal interview on a media platform where she can explain the matter in detail.

She also urged the public and social media users not to trust allegations that the man paid for her schooling.

She believes that people should appreciate the facts since she has presented them plainly.
