A Nigerian woman’s account of the events leading up to her mother’s d3ath has generated concern and debate online.

The woman, identified as @TalkswithAkwa on X, formerly known as Twitter, shared details about her mother’s illness in a post on the platform.

According to her, her mother became ill after picking up money that had been left on the ground at her brother’s construction site.

She further claimed that on subsequent visits to the location, her mother continued to find money on the ground and eventually decided to burn it.

The woman alleged that her mother’s health later deteriorated significantly, and despite efforts to help her recover, the interventions were unsuccessful before she eventually passed away.

The claims are based on the family’s account, and there is no publicly available evidence establishing a connection between the money found at the site and the illness that led to her d3ath.

‎”My mom fell ill just because she picked up money that was dropped in my brothers compound where he was building. Each time my mom goes to the site she will see money , she will pick it and burn it.

She became so sick we did all we could and still lost her. So sometimes the money in your compound wasn’t a mistake. It was intentionally dropped”, The tweet reads.‎
