According to a report by The Punch on Friday, June 26, 2026, the Ogun State Police Command has unveiled the tragic details surrounding the murder of former OGTV broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo.

During a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni announced the arrest of the three suspects responsible for the heinous crime, which occurred on June 20, 2026.

The prime suspect, 22-year-old Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, was apprehended at a construction site in Ibara GRA, Abeokuta. Following his arrest, he confessed to orchestrating the attack.

Philip, who previously worked for Oyesiku as a security guard, admitted that he recruited two accomplices—27-year-old security guard Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola and 36-year-old bricklayer Sobu Obafunsho—to execute the plan.

According to the Commissioner, Philip revealed that he sought revenge due to deep-seated grievances he harbored against the late broadcaster from his time in her employment.

“The suspect stated that the murder of Madam Olakitan Oyesiku was intended to ‘teach her a lesson’,” the police boss disclosed.

The investigation revealed a chilling sequence of events: the suspects overpowered the guard, Adetayo, and used him as a pawn to gain forceful entry into the residence. Once inside, they murdered both Oyesiku and the guard before fleeing in the victim’s Lexus RX 330.

Technical tracking eventually led police to the recovery of the stolen vehicle in the Onikolobo area, alongside incriminating evidence, including a cutlass, a hammer, and a plank used in the attack.

The command has assured the public that the suspects will face the full weight of the law, as investigations continue to ensure justice is served for the victims.
