“Vote Tinubu for President, Accord for Assembly Seats” — Adeleke Clarifies Osun Voting Arrangement Ahead of 2027

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged residents to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027 while voting for Accord Party candidates in the National and State Assembly elections.

Adeleke made the clarification on Thursday in Ede during the inauguration of a campaign committee for the re-election of Osun West Senator Lere Oyewumi.

Represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, the governor maintained that the proposed political arrangement would not confuse voters, despite the Rainbow Coalition being promoted to support Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

Adeleke Explains Voting Arrangement

The governor urged residents to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the presidential election while supporting Accord Party candidates in the legislative elections.

He said:

“Let me state again that we are only going to vote for the All Progressives Congress in the presidential election only.

“The National and State Assembly elections will be for the Accord Party. There should be no confusion among the voters.”

Governor Endorses Oyewumi’s Re-election Bid

Adeleke described Senator Oyewumi as an effective representative and urged members of the campaign committee to work towards securing his re-election.

In his remarks, Oyewumi credited Adeleke’s leadership with contributing to Accord’s growing acceptance in Osun State.

He expressed confidence that the governor’s popularity would strengthen the party’s chances in the forthcoming elections.

The senator also promised to pursue improved infrastructure, healthcare, education and other development projects across Osun West if re-elected.

Adeleke’s Political Realignment

Adeleke defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Accord Party in December 2025.

Despite the political differences between Accord and the APC, he has maintained support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition.

His latest clarification outlines the voting arrangement he is advocating for the 2027 elections, with the APC receiving his support at the presidential level and Accord candidates at the National and State Assembly levels.
